Katoomba 3 lookout loop walk

Ask Roz

Helping you find great things to see and do in the greater Blue Mountains

This is a wonderful short walk that visits 3 very different lookouts in Katoomba. This involved visiting Fossil Rock, Bridal Veil, and Copelands Lookouts. Each offer wonderful views over the Jamison Valley and each is very different.

Park in the old restaurant carpark. Then walk down to Fossil then around to Bridal Vale and then down to Copelands. The Copeland track is pretty rough in places. The track to Copeland has the most amazing weathered rock formations and itโ€™s in the worst condition.
n
n FOSSIL ROCK: It was first named in 1884 after what was thought to be ancient animal forms in the weathered sandstone and ironstone surface and was renamed Fossil Rock Lookout in 1952.

n COPELANDS: It's also been known as "Copeland's Outlook" and "Copeland's View". It was named after a Katoomba "storekeeper" William Raeburn Copeland in the early 1930's.

n
n BRIDAL VALE: Has a view of Bridal Veil Falls
