Whether you’re a science buff or someone that skipped all of those classes in school, the Copernicus Science Centre is sure to thrill. The Centre was created for children and families to have fun learning about science, but don’t despair if you’re technically an “adult”. This space is designed to bring out your inner child. You’re invited to conduct your own science experiments, learning about how the world around you works. You can visit the museum’s many exhibitions, all focusing on different areas of science. There are several exhibitions highlighting and explaining new and emerging technology like self-driving cars, artificial intelligence, and even the creation of deep fake videos. Discover nature at the Copernicus Science Centre

No trip to Warsaw is complete without a visit to the Muzeum Narodowe (the National Museum). This renowned art museum is one of the oldest in the country and is home to a staggering 830,000 works of art from Poland and abroad. The works span from ancient times to today. You’ll find that the curation of the museum is very unique. Take a look at classic works by artists from different times and locations, giving you a fresh and exciting perspective on art as a whole. One of the most popular galleries, and one we strongly recommend, is the Gallery of Medieval Art, which gives visitors insight into the role art has played throughout history.

Warsaw in the sun is truly an unforgettable experience. We think that one of the best ways to take in that experience is a walk along the Vistula Boulevards. This 2 kilometres-long trail follows the picturesque Vistula River and offers a little something for people of all ages. It’s a biker’s paradise, with trails set aside specifically for cyclists. For those on foot, this is a perfect way to spend the afternoon. Ramble along the promenade, stopping when you see fit for a bite to eat at one of the many pavilions offering food from across the world. Ready to relax? You’re in luck. The boulevards are full of spaces to take a seat and enjoy the views, including terraces, sun loungers, and mini-beaches. If you’re visiting in the summer, stick around after dark for the light and sound show at the nearby Multimedia Fountain Park.

Let the river be your guide at Vistula Boulevards

The Library of Warsaw University is undoubtedly one of the most interesting buildings in Poland, and one of the most distinctive libraries in the world. The mixture of concrete, oxidised metal, and lush vegetation creates an undeniably captivating appearance. Journey inside and explore the massive collection of books from around the globe. There are a few quirky collections, as well. We suggest checking out the Polish Poster Gallery, which features a broad collection of post-war entertainment and political posters from across Poland. Once you’ve had your fill of books, make your way to the rooftop garden. Both its size and sheer beauty are impressive. Wander through the sections, each different from the other. Lose yourself in the green and find a secluded spot to enjoy a moment of zen. You’ll feel like a local in this hidden gem.

Explore one of Europe’s most unique libraries

Situated in the heart of Old Town is the Zamek Kroewski, or the Royal Palace. Much like Warsaw itself, it has a long and storied history, full of triumphs and tragedies. Also, like the city, it has been restored to its former glory and invites visitors to explore its hallways and appreciate its beauty. The former palace, which is now a museum and exhibition space, was destroyed in World War II. The building is now completely restored, so keep an eye out for original fragments as you wander around the exterior and interior of the palace. You can visit royal apartments appointed with rescued furnishings, historic items that have long lived within the castle walls, and even paintings by Rembrandt. Enjoy one of the concerts held on the grounds or wander the majestic gardens. Soak in the beauty and find relaxation within the fortified walls.

When you envision a picturesque medieval square, you might have Warsaw’s Old Town in mind. This district, dating to the Middle Ages, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and an absolute favourite among visitors to Warsaw. We recommend you begin your visit in the central market square and wander towards Warsaw Mermaid, a statue of the city’s mythical guardian. From there, just walk! This beautiful neighbourhood is full of colourful buildings and countless places of worship. The architecture is intricate, so there’s always something that will catch your eye. There are museums, palaces, and monuments galore, so have your camera ready. When you’ve worked up an appetite, you can sit at one of the many restaurants and cafes serving quality, delicious Polish food and drink.

The Old Town
